How to Backup RPS or RPS Lite to XML.

Backing up RPS by copying folders manually or by creating a backup directly from SQL is not recommended. A backup should be created from the RPS software using the function listed above.

With RPS Version 5.7 and later, the backup file is exported as a single file with an XML file extension.

Version 5.2 to 5.5 backed up RPS to two files: an XML file and a DAT file.

Note: It is recommended when restoring a backup file(s) that the backup is only restored to the same version of RPS software used to create the backup (for example, an RPS v5.5 backup is not recommended to be restored into RPS v5.9). Therefore, Bosch recommends that you create a new backup after any RPS software upgrade.
