Is Camera Name & Number displayed in BVMS Op. Client MG or in HW monitor connected to a decoder?

Question

Can I display Camera Name & Number  in BVMS Op. Client MG or HW monitor connected to the decoder?

Answer

The MG Camera Name and Number Setting (BVMS Configuration Client, under MG Camera Settings) was not designed for BVMS Operator Client cameo, but in fact for the CPP-Enc type of decoder like VJD-3000.

These decoders supported an OSD command which allowed BVMS to write its logical number to the decoders monitor output and the position would depend on if it is in Fullscreen or Quad mode (exact xy position based on the complete visible screen).

The High-Performance Decoders do not support this feature. Therefore, for example, the camera number will not be displayed on HDMI Monitor connected to a VJD-7523.

This was mentioned in the RL from BVMS v5.5.5 till v10.1.1:

Note

If you switch off the camera Name from BVMS Configuration Client and if it is still displayed on the HDMI Output, the Camera Name displayed is because it is enabled in the Camera Display Stamping settings, also visible in WebGUI, Replay, other Applications etc.

(tick) New: In BVMS v12.1 this function was implemented for High performance decoders
