Which Cameras or Encoders can perform Dual Recording?

Question

Which Cameras or Encoders can perform Dual Recording?

Answer

By design, the Dual-Recording feature is specific only in Bosch Cameras.

3rd party cameras are integrated into Bosch Systems like BVMS-VRM via our Video Streaming Gateway (VSG)

Cameras/Encoders that are capable for dual recording: (iSCSI + SD Card or iSCSI + iSCSI)

Note: Dual recording can be achieved with or without BVMS-VRM

  • CPP-ENC XFM series (VIPX1600 XFM 4) starting with FW 4.21,
  • CPP 3 starting with FW 4.54
  • CPP 4 starting with FW 5.0
  • CPP 6 devices with any FW version
  • CPP 7 devices with any FW version
  • CPP 7.3 devices with any FW version
  • CPP 13 devices with any FW version
  • CPP 14 devices with any FW version

You can verify this in Configuration Manger, Recorder 1 = Primary & Recorder 2 = Secondary

Cameras/Encoders that are not capable for dual recording:

  • VIP platform devices. E.g. VIP-X1, VIP-X2, VJ-800x, VJ-1000 etc. (i.e. all devices below FW 4.10)
  • VIPX platform devices. The latest FW version is 4.15.0002
  • CPP 5 platform devices (VIPX16 XFE and VJM 4000). The latest FW version is 6.31.0019
  • The VSG is also not capable of offering dual recording.
  • But the same camera can be added to multiple VSG's.
