How to interpret the indications displayed when performing Command 46.


  • When performing CMD 46 and Cycle, Unlock, or Secure Door, a letter or number will appear in the place-holder for each door. Once entered, place holders for programmed doors will return an indication of the current state of the door.  

  • After performing CMD46 followed by Cycle Door, Unlock Door, or Secure Door the keypad will return the following:  CYCLE: 1  U --  --  --  --  --  -- , where in this example, Cycle door was performed. Door 1 is locked, door 2 is unlocked, and doors 3 - 8 are not turned on in programming.  Below are the other indicators that may also display.

  • F           - SDI Failure  (data communications have failed)

  • D           - Diagnostic mode  (D9210B Switch 5 has been turned off,  return switch 5 to on)

  • C           - Cycling  (CMD46 Cycle door has been performed)

  • A           - Add (learn mode)  Command 56 Add Card, is in use

  • # (1-8)  - Door is in the Locked state

  • X           - Door is in the Secured state (door will not respond after presenting credentials)

  • U           - Door is in the Unlocked state

  • --           - Door has not been turned on in programming
