How to define a custom tour for Bosch Cameras and call it with AUX command in BVMS Operator Client?

For the current article, the following devices/firmware/software versions were used:

MIC IP Starlight 7100i (CTN MIC-7522-Z30BR), firmware 7.89.0045
BVMS v12.2

This article explains how to set up a custom tour for Bosch cameras and finally making the custom tour accessible in the BVMS Operator Client.

Step-by-step guide

Start creating the custom tour of your Bosch camera by accessing its web GUI.

1. Type in the browser the camera's IP Address.

2. Go in Configuration > Camera > Pre-positions and Tours

3. Configure the pre-positions and add them in the Custom tour list.

Create the individual pre-positions
To add a pre-position into the custom tour, select the pre-position from the general list and click the triangle button to copy it to the custom tour list
Adjust the custom tour sequence by moving preposition up or down.
Select a dwell time from the drop-down list Custom tour.

4. Next step is to identify the applicable AUX command for the custom tour from each camera model owner’s manual.

In our case we used a MIC IP Starlight 7100i and the AUX command for ON/OFF custom tour is 7 (see page 37 from User Manual).

5. The AUX command needs to be added in the Configuration Client afterwards.

Open Configuration Client > select the “Cameras and Recording” tab
Tick the “All” menu to show all cameras in the system
Highlight the Moving Camera that you like to define AUX command of the Custom Tour
- Select and tick the PTZ box in the cameras list, if the camera was not recognized as a Moving Camera, e.g. fixed camera which shall use its telemetry
Then select the “PTZ Settings” icon in the tool bar.
Add ON 7 & OFF 7 and name it in the Name's column
Click OK

6. Save & Activate your changes

7. You will afterwards have this custom tour start & stop available in the Operator Client as can be seen below:
