Just installing Microsoft Security Patches on a BRS Appliance will cause a BSOD after reboot.

Solution
The following steps are necessary:

Download and extract Superbmc driver (3186.zip)

Copy Superbmc.sys to C:/Windows/System32/drivers (Replace the existing file)

Restart BRS system

Install Microsoft Security Patch

If the customer has already done the Microsoft Security Patches and got the BSOD (Blue Screen of Death) after reboot, what is the best way to remedy the situation?
There are two different ways to fix the BSOD on a BRS Appliance:

Recovery from DOM
-
Boot Windows in "Safe mode" (F8) and revert updates.
The above mentioned security update MS17-010 is also suggested to prevent other malware attacks, such as the Petya Ransomware.
