Does AUTODOME IP 5000i – CPP 7.3 camera (Firmware 7.89.0045) work in BVMS 8.0?
Question
Does AUTODOME IP 5000i – CPP 7.3 camera (Firmware 7.89.0045) work in BVMS 8.0?
Answer
According to the Release Notes, the firmware versions that were used in the BVMS 8.0 system test for the CPP 7.3 cameras were 6.41.0037 / 6.42.0021 / 6.43.0027 / 6.51.0026 / 6.44.0027 / 6.51.0028.
These Firmware versions are considered legacy versions. They are not available in the public download store. Requests for these older firmware versions must be routed through Central Technical Support (CTS) for approval and provision. See more info: Bosch Video support - Firmware and Software requests
However, successful integration of CPP 7.3 cameras with firmware 7.90 and even CPP14 (FW 9.41) has been reported. In some cases, specific camera settings need to be enabled to ensure proper operation.
Therefore, when using Firmware 7.89.0045 or the latest FW version, and to avoid authentication or connection issues when adding the camera via BVMS Configuration Wizard or Configuration Client, follow these steps via the camera’s web interface:
Enable RCP+ and HTTP
Uncheck the “Password policy enforcement” from the Compatibility tab
In such situation, it is necessary to ensure that that all users e.g. service, user and live are password-protected
Access the web interface of the IP camera using a web browser
Navigate to Configuration → General → User Management
Set a password for all the users found in the user management page

After this setting, the camera should manually be added and authenticate successfully.
