Is 100Mbps SFP module supported in a setup with fiber connectivity between AUTODOME 7100i and Wall arm & PSU?

Question

Is 100Mbps SFP module supported in a setup with fiber connectivity between AUTODOME 7100i and Wall arm & PSU?

Answer

Test Setup Overview:

  • AUTODOME 7100i Camera: NDP-7602-Z40 (CPP13 v8.93.0030/8.93.0031): Data Sheet

  • Wall Arm & PSU: NDA-7100-PA2HF: Data Sheet

  • Switch: Alcatel OS6860N-P48Z (firmware: 8.10.105.R02 GA)

  • SFP Modules Tested: Various single-mode SFPs (850nm / 1310nm), including copper and fiber optics.

Results and Observations

  • The internal LAN port and copper SFP port (with autonegotiation enabled) functioned correctly.

  • When inserting fiber optic SFPs, no connection could be established - regardless of whether the port was set to autonegotiation or manually configured to 100Mb full duplex.

  • Once an SFP module is inserted, the internal LAN port is deactivated automatically.

  • No MAC address or other network activity is registered on the switch from the fiber-connected port.

Conclusion: SFP Compatibility

  • 100Mbps SFP modules are not supported.

  • Only 1Gbps non-SGMII SFP modules are compatible with this setup.

Verified Working SFP Modules

The following SFP modules were successfully tested and confirmed working:

  • Moxa SFP-1GLSXLC-T

  • Cisco GLC-LX-SM-RGD

Important Power Consideration

When using the fiber optic interface, ensure the camera is powered using 24VAC or 36VDC, not standard PoE or 230VAC setups.
