Is the NPD-6001B midspan compatible with the AUTODOME IP starlight 5100i IR camera?

The NPD-6001B midspan may work with the AUTODOME IP starlight 5100i IR (NDP-5533-Z30L) camera only in specific situations. According to the camera Datasheet, PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) can power the device when the heater is not in use and the illuminator is operating at half intensity or less. In these conditions, the NPD-6001B may be sufficient.

However, when the heater is enabled or the illuminator is used at full intensity, the camera requires PoE++ (IEEE 802.3bt). In these cases, midspans such as the NPD-6001C or NPD-6001C-E are recommended because they support the higher power requirement.

Although the NPD-6001B appears in the accessories list of the camera datasheet, it is specified for cameras without illumination, which limits its compatibility with this model.

For full functionality and reliable operation of the AUTODOME IP starlight 5100i IR camera, the NPD-6001C or NPD-6001C-E midspans are the recommended options.
