Why does my KBD-DIGITAL show menus but not control the VJD-75x3 decoder (no camera or monitor control)?
Question
Why does my KBD-DIGITAL show menus but not control the VJD-75x3 decoder (no camera or monitor control)?
Answer
This behavior can occur when the decoder’s maximum monitor count is set too low. Even though the KBD-DIGITAL recognizes the connection, shows the “Terminal” option, accepts the PIN, and displays all IP Matrix menus, it may not be able to control cameras or switch monitors if the monitor configuration on the decoder is insufficient.
If you are still using an older firmware version on your VJD-75x3 decoder, you can resolve this behavior by increasing the Max Monitor Number to 20–30 and saving the settings. Once this value is adjusted, the KBD-DIGITAL regains full control, including camera selection and PTZ operation via the joystick.
This behavior has been permanently fixed in VJD-75x3 firmware version 11.01.
If firmware upgrades are allowed at your site, please update to FW 11.01 or the latest version released and available in the DLS VJ-Decoders.
