Which firmware version supports the Camera Trainer function for each CPP camera?
Question
Which firmware version supports the Camera Trainer function for each CPP camera?
Answer
The Camera Trainer is a function that uses machine learning to allow the user to define objects of interest and generate detectors for them. The Camera Trainer detects both moving and non-moving objects and classifies them immediately.
Support for the Camera Trainer function depends on the CPP camera model and Firmware version:
Model | Support status | Details |
|---|---|---|
CPP14, CPP14.1 , CPP14.2, CPP14.3 | Supported | Built-in feature |
CPP13 | Supported | Built-in feature |
CPP7, CPP7.3 | Supported | Starting with FW: 7.10 |
CPP6 | Supported | Starting with FW: 7.10 |
CPP4 | Not supported |
|
CPP3 | Not supported |

For some cameras with older firmware versions, a license was required to use the Camera Training function (see Where can you find the installation code needed to license a Bosch camera? ). However, for cameras with newer firmware versions, this license is no longer necessary, as the Camera Trainer function is enabled by default.
For example, on CPP 7.3 cameras with value levels of 7000 and higher, Camera Trainer is enabled without a license starting from firmware version FW7.85.0016. Similarly, starting with firmware FW 8.20.0143 on CPP 14 cameras, the Camera Trainer license is no longer required, and the function is enabled by default.
This information is detailed in the release notes for each CPP camera version.
