Question
Why can't an AXIS or third-party camera be found in Configuration Client during the device scan?
Answer
Before adding an AXIS camera, or any other third-party camera to Configuration Client, make sure that a Video Streaming Gateway (VSG) has been added to the BVMS configuration.
The VSG is the component that connects BVMS with third-party cameras and encoders, particularly ONVIF devices used for recordings.
After adding the VSG, the AXIS camera can be added as an ONVIF encoder through the VSG.
For detailed instructions on how to add the camera through the VSG, see the following article:
Note:
If recording from an AXIS or other third-party device is not required, the camera can be added as a Live Only device in BVMS Configuration Client by right-clicking Live Only and selecting Add/Scan for ONVIF encoders. In this case, a VSG is not required.
